An amendment to the Commercial Code, which comes into force on February 1, 2023, has implemented, into Slovak national law, European legislation in the area of the use of digital tools and processes in company law.

The amendment introduces, inter alia, the possibility of exchanging information between the Slovak Republic and the member states of the European Union and/or the contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area on enterprises and branch offices of foreign and Slovak legal entities through the so-called “system of interconnection of registers” (i.e., central registers, commercial registers, and companies registers).  

Such exchange of information will be carried out immediately after each change of information, without a proposal/request and free of charge.
