The representatives of employees and employers have agreed with the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and the Family of the Slovak Republic that premium pay for night work will be increased in two stages.

Under the agreement, the first and second increase in night premium pay will be effective as of May 1, 2018 and May 1, 2019, respectively. Premium pay for work on a public holiday is to be increased from 50% to 100%. There will also be changes in premium pay for work on weekends.

The Slovak Parliament has yet to approve the agreement.
