The meal allowance rates and the basic rates of reimbursement for the use of privately-owned road motor vehicles for work-related travel have been increased by the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic with effect from May 1, 2022.

However, it is proposed to raise these rates even more. The Ministry has published preliminary information about a draft measure on the rates, and the proposals are currently being debated and commented on.

Meal allowance maximum amount as of May 1, 2022:

a) EUR 6 for journey time of 5 hours up to 12 hours,

b) EUR 9 for journey time of 12 hours up to 18 hours,

c) EUR 13.70 for journey time exceeding 18 hours.

Proposed meal allowance maximum amount:

a) EUR 6.40 for journey time of 5 hours up to 12 hours,

b) EUR 9.60 for journey time of 12 hours up to 18 hours,

c) EUR 14.50 for journey time exceeding 18 hours.

Allowance per kilometer driven as of May 1, 2022:

a) EUR 0.059 for single-track vehicles and tricycles,

b) EUR 0.213 for passenger road motor vehicles.

Proposed allowance per kilometer driven:

a) EUR 0.063 for single-track vehicles and tricycles,

b) EUR 0.227 for passenger road motor vehicles.
