The new provisions of Act No. 351/2015 Coll., amending Act No. 82/2005 Coll. on Illegal Work and Illegal Employment, become effective on June 18, 2016.

The adopted amendment has become the subject of intense criticism from the business sector in Slovakia since it indirectly requires entrepreneurs to verify whether their contractors comply with the prohibition of illegal employment. In the event contractors violate the prohibition, the recipients of work or services may face a high fine.
