June 28, 2021 | News July 2021 │ Amendment to the Trade Licensing Act

The Trade Licensing Act (Act No. 455/1991 Coll. on Trade Licensing) has been amended with effect from August 1, 2021. The aim is to reduce the bureaucratic burden and make it easier for businesses to carry out their business activities. The changes that the amendment will bring include:

  • for the purpose of proving professional competence in craft trades, the length of the required experience has been reduced;
  • the responsible representative will have the option to notify by himself the Trade Licensing Office of the termination of the performance of his function;
  • the changes also concern the minimum and maximum period for which entrepreneurs may suspend their trade – the minimum period has been shortened from the current 6 months to 1 month; the maximum period has been extended from the current 3 years to 4 years;
  • the total number of types of craft trade has been reduced;
  • the time limit for notifying the authority of establishment of business premises has been extended to 15 days from the date of their establishment.
